What this site offers
We've created this site as an introduction to online learning. Our target audience is:
· The NOVICE student who has never taken an online course and is not sure what to expect
· The INTERMEDIATE student who has taken one or two online courses and has a basic understanding of the requirements
· The ADVANCED student who has taken a few online courses and has an advanced understanding of the requirements
· The UBER EXPERT student who has taken several online courses and has an uber expertise of the requirements
This site is broken into 8 sections:
Start here - You are here! This page gives you an idea of why you’re here, where to go next, and what to expect in each section
About Us - A biography of each of the creators of this site. The creators each have a story to tell about their level of experience with online learning, and are each categorized as novice, intermediate, advanced or uber expert.
What you need to know: "Needs and Tips" - Provides a list of minimum technical requirements to effectively participate in online learning, as well as some tips and tricks from our uber expert creator. Our uber expert has also included a blog so that anyone of you can post your thoughts (click “About Us” to find out who that is!).
The “Good Stuff” - Outlines the benefits and the “good to knows” about an online learning experience.
LMS Info - Provides a description of the different Learning Management Systems (LMS) out there, so you know what to expect when you start your first (or 100th!) online course.
Resources - For your learning convenience, a list of additional resources to aid with your online learning experience have been provided here, as well as a blog where users can share their favorite resources.
Online Questionnaire - a self-assessment tool to help you determine if online learning is right for you.
