Selected Beneficial Features
Ease: This is a very easy system to use. Good navigation, easy posting, easy linking to previous posts and to media, and fast!
Like Button: Eliminates the need to post support notes. Tells you how many like the note—the more likes the more you likely need to pay attention to the note.
Word Cloud: Users can create word clouds for conversations
Functionality: Linear, straight forward, easy to use, good chat features.
Private Messages: These do not appear as posts.
Notification: At the course main page, you will be notified of responses to your posts.
Messages: Unread messages are flagged; automatically lists people who have read your message, along with time.
Chat Rooms: An instructor-free zone (similar to C2C)
General Notes and Recommendations
Complaints on this system are few. Perhaps the one advantage that Blackboard and D2L have over Pepper is that you need to log into each course separately. If improvements were to be made to the system, we might suggest that it be able to host multiple courses with a single log in and to increase the capacity to store files on the course site (e.g., like my files in C2C).
